If you click the link above ^ it will take you to Bridget Rileys "Cataract 3" artwork.

Even though this piece of art uses only lines and color, it is really interesting to look at. Throughout the whole piece the use of curved lines is consistant. Every line is horizontal and they start off thick shrink to thin and then grow back to thick along the whole page. On the top of the painting the lines are a dark faded purple color that have a lighter lavender purple color underneath them. As you go down the picture the color of the lines change about halfway to a red coupled with the dark purple and followed by a white, that pattern goes on until a third of the page is left. The bottom of the page has the same colors as the top which creates a pleasing image.  The lines of the painting are really close together and it looks like they are raised fron and lowered into the canvas. All of the lines create an image that appears to be wavy and like little hills all over the page. I really like this painting and i hope youthink my description sees fit :)

My First Blogpost

Ok so I have never made a blog before and this is my first attempt. My art teacher told our class to make blogs to share our art with the world. I think art is a way to express your feelings or to show your emotions and this is a great way to do that. I haven't had much experience with painting, drawing or art in general so I am excited about what this blog will turn out to be. I work well in groups, try my best and can grasp new concepts well.  I find it hard to work in loud environments because it is hard to focus on what I am doing. Thanks for taking your time to read my blog and I will be posting some of my artwork soon. :)
